The bell housing with transfer case and 3-speed drive shaft transmission with final drive are all special designed and built for V8BIKE. Three helical gears in the transfer case can be changed for different ratios. The transmission is a constant mesh type (standard motorcycle practice) with sliding dogs. Shifting is smooth and easy at all RPM's for the 3 speeds. This is made so by the unique dog design; half dogs on 1st & 2nd and back-draft dogs on 3rd (high, which is straight thru). The gear drive system is simple and rugged and reliable and provides a fun factor to riding while giving optimum fuel economy. The side mount transmission allows for easy access & service.
