Engine

The engine used in V8BIKE is the 215 Oldsmobile V8 made from 1961-1963. It is an all aluminum engine weighing in at 300 pounds. All engines are re-built and upgraded with the following improvements: one piece lip seals on the crankshaft front and rear, stem seals on the valves, flat top pistons for higher compression ratios, moly coated rings, 40,000 volt ignition, longer duration and higher lift camshaft, and modern Weber four barrel carburetors. The displacement is increased to three variations by boring and stroking; the 225, 254, and 268 versions. The following chart shows the bore and stroke for the various engine sizes:
